CAROM SHOT-
A shot in which the cue ball after striking an object ball then strikes another object ball.
A carom shot, also commonly referred to as a "kiss shot" is a strategic maneuver where the cue ball strikes a first object ball, and that first object ball then makes contact with and pockets a second object ball. The key distinction from a standard combination shot is that in a carom, the object ball you initially hit is the one that kisses or "caroms" off another ball to send it into a pocket. This is invaluable when the target object ball is directly blocked by another ball or is in a position that makes a direct hit or a simple combination unfeasible. Aiming carom shots requires precise visualization of how the momentum and angle will transfer from the first object ball to the second, often demanding a delicate balance of speed and contact point on the first ball to ensure the second ball is driven to its intended destination.
